Playa de San Juan is a 360 m black-sand beach in Guía de Isora, on the west coast, beside the fishing harbour and a breakwater that shelters it from wind and waves. It has held a Blue Flag since 2012 and has a lifeguard service, a children's area, showers, changing rooms and bars (Tenerife tourist board, read 7 November 2026). It is a village beach rather than a resort beach, which makes it a good choice for a calm day on the sand near Los Gigantes and Costa Adeje.

Tips
- Other black-sand options are compared in Tenerife black sand beaches; La Arena in Puerto de Santiago is 140 m by 40 m and also holds a Blue Flag (see Los Gigantes), while Playa de San Juan is longer. For a pale-sand day, see Playa del Duque or the best beaches in Tenerife. Rooms in the village are in the Booking box.
How to get there
By car along the west coast, with parking near the beach, or by the inter-city bus the tourist board lists. Los Gigantes is a short drive to the north, and Costa Adeje is about 30 to 40 minutes from Los Gigantes by car.
