Costa Adeje, Tenerife: Beaches, Hotels and Things to Do

Updated on November 7, 2026

Costa Adeje is the resort coast in the south-west of Tenerife, running from Playa de Troya to Callao Salvaje. It is where most first-time visitors with a beach holiday in mind end up: the island's tourist board lists a golf course, Siam Park, the Magma congress palace and a marina used by whale and dolphin boats, and it puts the airport only about 20 minutes away by car or taxi, with direct buses. The municipality of Adeje has 14 beaches that can be used all year, and a yearly average of about 24 °C with roughly 300 days of sunshine (Tenerife tourist board, read 7 November 2026).

The coastline from Playa de Troya to Callao Salvaje

This is the stretch the tourist board calls Costa Adeje. Pale and dark sand beaches alternate, and the promenade links the resorts, so you can move between them on foot or by short bus rides.

Siam Park

The water park is listed by the tourist board among the sights of Costa Adeje. It has its own page: see Siam Park tickets.

The marina and the boats

Whale and dolphin trips leave from the marina. Compare them in Tenerife boat trips and whale watching in Tenerife.

Barranco del Infierno

A Special Nature Reserve above Adeje town. The walk is 6.5 km round trip, takes about 3.5 hours, and climbs at most 200 m. Entry is booked online only through barrancodelinfierno.es, the number of walkers is capped at 300 a day, hiking boots are required, and children under five and animals are not allowed. The first 30 minutes can be hard if you suffer from vertigo.

Abama Beach

The tourist board describes a quiet bay of golden sand next to a luxury hotel, a calmer choice than the town beaches.
